 Vegreen – The Brand

Vegreen is a Korean skincare brand, their products are all made in Korea. The name Vegreen is a compound word of Vegetable + Green. Vegreen’s values consist of using safe renewable ingredients from nature. They are a very environmentally aware brand, all their packaging is recyclable, and their boxes are made of a sugar cane by-product. Eco-friendly ink made from soybean oil is used on all their packaging. They use recycled containers for their products to help reduce their carbon footprint. Sustainability and providing safe skincare products are top priorities for Vegreen.

They are a cruelty-free and vegan-friendly brand.

The Vegreen Intensive Vitamin C 20% Ampoule

The Vegreen Intensive Vitamin C 20% Ampoule has a lightweight, clear consistency that spreads easily, leaving the skin feeling super hydrated. Alternatively, it can also be pressed into the skin. It does have a slightly oily feel to it but it does absorb nicely leaving no greasy residue. It has a waterless formulation helping it to stabilise the vitamin C. I have been using this for nearly three months and it’s as clear as the day it was opened. Some vitamin C serums oxidise, you can see the difference if the serum turns orange and smells bad. This does have a 12-month PAO (point after opening) but it is advised to use within three months after opening.

There is a subtle soft citrus fragrance that is barely noticeable. No fragrances have been added. I have learned one pump can be a bit much, so I need to be gentle with the pump. I have seen complaints about this serum being too oily. In my experience, if you use too much yes it will be oily, so less is more with this serum. Gently pressing the serum into the skin is another way to combat the oily feel.

Vitamin C is best used in the morning to help boost the effectiveness of sunscreen. Plus, it should NOT be used with retinol products, retinols should always be used during your nighttime skincare routine.

Overall I am really enjoying this Vitamin C Ampoule, I find some vitamin C serums can be too oily, or too drying but this one is just perfect – not too oily and definitely not drying.

My only negative is the box the product comes in, it is very hard to read the text on the back of the box.

One thing to remember is that skincare is very personal, what works for me may not work for you.

This is a high concentration of vitamin C, so it is strongly advised to always patch-test new products first for 24 hours before using them. I pop a small amount of product onto my inner elbow, on my neck and also just under my jaw. I like to be sure I will not have any bad reactions to products.

Ampoules Vs. Serums?

Ampoules V’s Serums? I was totally confused by this! Ampoules to me come in tiny little single-use vials, however, I have noticed the term ampoules applied to what I call serums. It is totally up to the brand how they label them. From what I can tell, Ampoules are concentrated products for targeted skincare concerns and should not be used daily, or daily for a short amount of time. Whereas serums can be used daily. I feel like this is a serum as it can be used daily.
