Although candles and wax melts are not unique gift ideas, Essence of Harris is a unique family-run candle-making business located on the Isle of Harris, Western Isles, Scotland. The Isle of Harris is at the heart of everything Essence of Harris creates – which is reflected in the unique names of their permanent classic fragrance collection. Each of these fragrances is inspired by and named after beautiful local beaches on the island.

Essence of Harris not only hand-pour soy candles and wax melts, but they also hand-make room diffusers, bath & body products and hand sanitisers.

My favourite candle and wax melt is “Frosted Cranberry” from their Festive Collection. Frosted Cranberry is a beautiful mix of Cranberry (Top note), Orange (heart note), and Cinnamon (base note). This natural soy candle has a burn time of approximately 40 hours, and it burns down so evenly with no tunnelling.

With Christmas right around the corner, a candle or wax melt from their Festive Collection would make a festive dream for a fragrance lover. The Festive Collection also contains “Spiced Plum” fragranced candles and wax melts too. I am yet to try this fragrance but I am sure it smells beautiful too.
