Let’s Talk About Lip Care
Today, I am talking all about lip care. I have never really suffered from dry lips in the past until now. I have always kept a lip balm in my makeup bag, but more often than not it expired before I had finished it. This past winter I have really experienced what it feels like to have dry, chapped lips. So I want to share with you what I have been using to help care for my lips.

Want Some Extra Cash? Try Market Research Surveys!
There’s a chance you have heard of market research surveys. Surveys are a great way to earn a little bit of extra cash – and who doesn’t like to have a little bit of spare cash! The extra money earned can either go towards your households running expenses or to save up for an item that you have been lusting over – enter my beautiful cardholder from Chanel! Both my husband and I participate in surveys, and normally the extra money goes into the household expenses, but this year we have spent the money on ourselves. As well as earning a little extra cash, surveys are a great way to…

Too Faced Turns 20!
I can’t believe Too Faced have been around for 20 years (Happy Birthday Too Faced!). I have only discovered Too Faced in the last few years, as until recently, their products weren’t available in Australia. I must admit though, I do not own any Too Faced makeup (that is definitely changing this Christmas!) but, I have been buying Too Faced for a few years now for my daughter (softoctobernight), and, from time to time, using hers! I am very impressed with their makeup. Whenever I go into Mecca (similar to Sephora), Too Faced is my first pitstop.

Double Cleansing with Micellar Water
I had never heard of double cleansing with Micellar Water before until my daughter (softoctobernight) told me all about it. Since I have really been trying to lift my skincare game lately and have gone back to using face masks again (read here), I decided to try this double cleansing routine out! I am so glad I did – I am definitely hooked!

Scarves – Add An Extra Touch!
I have never really been a scarf person. In the past, I have generally only worn them in Winter to keep warm, but lately I have really been enjoying wearing scarves to bring a little extra touch to my outfits. My Mum was a scarf lover – she had so many scarves and she wore them so elegantly – so I think that is why I have been drawn to wearing them now. I am such a plain dresser (like seriously really plain), so wearing a scarf that has a pattern or colour that I would not usually wear, makes me feel like I am elevating my outfit, at least…

Face Masks – Why You Need Them
Today on Rediscovering My Style I am talking about my rediscovery of face masks. I used to use face masks all the time in my late teens and early twenties, but like a lot of things in life, they certainly got forgotten about over the years. It wasn’t until my daughter (softoctobernight) started using masks that I took notice of them again (she had mainly been using them for acne). When she started to use charcoal/mud masks, it really reminded me of the face masks I used to use. I saw how clear my daughter’s skin was looking and I thought, time to use face masks again! I am so…

Discover The Beauty Of Zoeva Makeup Brushes
My makeup brushes were in desperate need of an update, It had been years since I had bought any, so I went on the hunt for new brushes. Makeup brushes have come a long way since I first started using them years ago. There are so many different styles of brushes on the market these days, from unicorn brushes, and mermaid brushes, to flower brushes, it seems like almost every makeup brand these days has its own makeup brush line. It was so hard to choose! My daughter has two Zoeva Makeup Brush Sets, she was very impressed with them, so I thought I would give them a go –…

Urban Decay Primer Potion Review
I was so happy that I had found two beautiful eyeshadow palettes, Urban Decay Naked3 (read my post here) and Urban Decay Backtalk (read my post here) however, I was getting so frustrated. The problem was I would apply it in the morning, but by the end of the day, it was gone – practically disappeared! Where had it gone? I was complaining to my daughter, Chloe (softoctobernight), when she said: “try the eyeshadow primer samples that came with your Naked3 palette.” The next time I wore eyeshadow I tried the Urban Decay Primer Potion in Original. My eyeshadow, by the end of the day, it was still there, looking…

Urban Decay Backtalk Palette Review – Hit or Miss?
I had been on the lookout for a pink toned eyeshadow palette for a while now, and on a recent visit to Mecca I spotted the Urban Decay Backtalk I thought the colours were so gorgeous and just what I was looking for! After seeing this palette, I read a lot of reviews on it, and they are very mixed – some people love it, others not so much. This palette is limited edition, and since I love my Urban Decay Naked3 palette (read my post here) I really wanted to give this palette a go, despite some bad reviews.

Bomber Jackets – are they still on trend?
For a few years now I have been seeing bomber jackets back in the shops and I have loved them. They reminded me of a beautiful Marcel Dachet bomber jacket I bought in my teens, in the 80’s (wow showing my age!), and I loved that jacket!
